An AI-powered Git assistant that explains your changes.

Explains commits, ranges, branch diffs and merge conflicts in plain language, and drafts changelogs, PR descriptions and commit splits.

LinuxmacOSWindows

gitxplain is like having a senior developer explain what changed, why it changed and how it works. Point it at a commit, a range or a branch and get a clear, structured explanation.

It works with OpenAI, Groq, OpenRouter, Gemini, Ollama, Anthropic, Mistral, Azure OpenAI and more, and has no runtime dependencies beyond Node.js.
